People like [things] according to their acquired taste and according to how they are trained.

(Translator’s note: translated as ‘trained,’ ‘accustomed to,’ or ‘get used to’ depending on the context)

  • Proverbs 24:12 If you say, “But we knew nothing about this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay each person according to what he has done?
  • Matthew 16:27 For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done.
  • Revelation 22:12 “Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done.

Regardless of where you are born, you become fond of the environment and background of the place you are born, so you become trained to and acquire the taste of that place. And then you like [things] according to how you are trained. Religious people, politicians, economists, people who work in media, arts, academia, and sports, people who study, people who love, farmers, people who are homosexuals, and people who watch lewd materials—they all like [whatever it is they like] because they are used to it, and they have acquired the taste for it. Whatever it may be, when you do [something] for a long time, it becomes your constitution for your brain, your body, and for your heart, mind, and thoughts, so you acquire the taste for it, and you become used to it. And you live after changing into the state that you have gotten used to.

You like the shape and form of something depending on how you acquire the taste of it and have gotten used to it in the beginning. Whether you are a young child or an adult, male or female, if you eat food when you are hungry, everything is tasty. However, depending on how the food you ate at first has been [prepared and] processed, you acquire a taste for it and get used to it. The same is also true with religion. If people came into contact with an idol-worshipping religion first and got used to it, then more than 70-90 percent of them would continuously live believing that that religion is good. If people came in contact with a cult religion first and got used to it, then they would get used to ‘that kind* of religion’ and keep serving it while liking it. (*literal interpretation: shape)

Depending on what kind* of religion people came into contact with first, they take that religion [as their own], they believe in it, acquire a taste for that religion, and live having gotten used to it. (*literal interpretation: shape) This is true not only for religion, but also for politics, the economy, arts, academia, and [your] hobbies. This is also true when selecting a spouse/partner or the object of your love. They like [others] according to the taste they have acquired, and according to what they are used to. This is why you have to properly acquire the right taste from the beginning and get used to it well.

If you acquire a wrong taste and get used to the wrong [things], you will fail in life, and even receive eternal suffering. People acquire a taste for, get used to, and like certain shapes or certain types according to what they were first exposed to when they were young. This is because [such shapes or such types] have been put into the brain, and they are saved and stored in the brain.

Europe mostly consists of ‘Christian nations.’ People told me that since their parents were Christians, their parents took them to church or cathedrals ever since they were born or young, so regardless of their own will, they got used to Christianity. And then they said they are Christians only by name. In fact, they don’t really go to church or cathedrals, but go only on special days. They said that since they are now grown up, they won’t believe according to what they are used to, but they will choose religion freely and live their lives.

[Some people] told me that even though they believe in God and Jesus, they actually believe without knowing [about Them] well. Since they didn’t know about God, there were also many youths who misunderstood God. Even though they believe in God and Jesus, they just believe in ways that have nothing to do with the Word. Therefore, their spirits were not made, so their levels were very low, and their deeds were not on ‘the side of righteous’ either.

In Matthew 12:48-50, Jesus said, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?  Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.” And in Matthew 7:21, Jesus says, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.”

Also, in Matthew 16:27, God spoke clearly about ‘salvation’ through Jesus. He said, “I will repay you according to your deeds.” According to this Word, those people are leading a ‘deviated faith.’ This is true not only for Europe but also for America—which is a Christian nation, and for the people of the former faith in Asia and also in Korea that was once so ablaze with faith. If you go to churches, you can hardly find any young people.

It does not work with the Word of the old time period. It does not work with the Word of religion alone either. We have the Word that people need for living their lives, so you have to teach it well both spiritually and physically and learn it well. People like and do what they are accustomed to doing. This is also ‘physical nature.’

However, everyone in the world lives accustomed to the things they like, so would it be easy for them to fix those things? Whether it is religion, lifestyle, things they like, the opposite sex, the same sex, the Internet, lewd material, drinking, or smoking, each person lives as they like whatever they developed a taste or habit for. Those are all things that belong to ‘physical nature.’ People hate fixing themselves as much as they hate death, and they like what they have been accustomed to as much as they like to live. In the end, the ‘day of judgment’ comes. Those who truly try to fix themselves fix their wrong habits! Those who have the Will of God fix themselves! I bless you to realize this Word deeply and take action so that you can receive the Lord without any regrets.
