17. WHAT HUMAN BEINGS MUST DO, HUMAN BEINGS MUST GET THEM DONE
Hell is the place where only those who did not believe in God and the Lord should go, but when I went to the spiritual world, this was not the case. I saw so many times that those who believed in God and the Lord, and those who received the love of God and the Lord also went to Hell. There was [a person] who loved and believed in God and the Lord well, attended church [every Sunday] and also evangelized well. However, his spirit went to Hell. Why so?
This is because they also loved the world in the same way. Even as they attend church, there are so many people who live like this. They do everything they want to do, and everything they like while they attend church. Although they believe in and love God and the Lord, they believe in and love the Lord not according to the Lord’s desire but according to their own way.
The Lord said to me. “What human beings must do, human beings must get them done. No matter how much God loves a person, no matter how much I love him, whether it is a difficult task or an easy task, they must do what they must get done.”
“The Lord~ In the world, when lovers love each other, they do things for each other without calculating things. You are the Messiah, and you even died for us. When we ask you to do something for us, whatever we ask is nothing compared to death, but would you not do that small thing for us?”
(The Lord) “I will never do it for you even in your whole lifetime.” “You truly love us, but will you not do it for us?” (The Lord) “It’s because I truly love you that I won’t do it for you.” “Why not? If people hear about this, they will say that Heaven’s laws are not any better than earthly lovers’ laws.”
The Lord laughed.
(The Lord) “You need to pray and realize on your own in the course of your life why human beings must do what they must do. As you wander around the world, I want you to realize the reason and the principle why human beings must do that.” Afterwards, I tried to realize as I experienced many things, prayed, lived my daily life, considering the principle of all creations, and experienced people. And then one day, there was a realization that made my heart refreshed. (Realization) ‘I must do things on my own in order to change.
I must do it for my body and spirit to change. If I don’t do things myself and if God does them for me, it is like having the parents to put on new clothes on me when I haven’t even taken off old clothes. If God and the Lord do everything for human beings because they are almighty and all-knowing, I will just receive what God and the Lord do for me, but changes will not take place.
I must take action, and receive changes in my body and spirit. I must be the one taking action. Then, my spirit will be changed, avoid [going to] Hell, and go to Heaven [instead.] However, I failed to do what I must do, and just loved and believed in God and the Lord. As much as I love and believe in [the Lord,] I must take action according to his words. If I fail to do that, my body and spirit will not change, and I will end up going to Hell.’
If you don’t live according to the Lord’s will and live according to their own way and say, “Lord, Lord!” the Lord said, “You who believe in me through unlawful deeds. I don’t know you.” If people believe in God and the Lord, if they believe without knowing about God and the Lord properly, they will come to ruin. They should never just love Jesus when they don’t even know Him correctly. People should love and believe in God and the Lord 100% according to what God and the Lord want.
18. PEOPLE TURN OUT ACCORDING TO HOW THEY ARE MADE
I worried about and concerned myself with ‘How should I make myself and how should I live?’ from the age of ten. Thinking about this up until the age of fifteen, I went through lots of suffering of the heart and lots of worries. While doing so, I came to read the Bible and while reading the Bible, I came to know about and became inspired in regards to making [your] life, and while putting the Bible into practice, I set my heart to make myself in the way God wanted.
Even though taking action according to the Bible was arduous, I lived my life thinking that was the path of life. I was unable to eat well or sleep well. While doing so, I realized, was inspired, and was delighted. So I preached the Word while evangelizing on the streets. In this way, during the day I delivered the Word while evangelizing on the streets and during the nights I returned to my prayer place in order to pray.
When I prayed in the mountains and asked God and the Holy Son how I should live my life, God and the Holy Son told me to read the Bible a lot, realize correctly, and deliver the Word to people. While staying in the mountains I made myself desperately, fully, and expertly. When God, the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Son let me realize and taught me while I was praying, I took [what I realized] and went out to evangelize on the streets again during the day. Eventually I made myself in this way into ‘a person who is used by God.’
People turn out according to how they are made. God did not suddenly make a tree into ‘a desk’ when the tree is just sitting still. It was made that way because ‘a desk’ was made using a tree. When the tree is made into ‘a desk,’ people will use it as a desk in accordance with what it was made into.
People also turn out according to how they are made and are used according to how they are made. If you make yourself, then God, the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Son will use you according to how you are made. However, God does not make you [into anything] when you, yourself are doing nothing. It is by you, yourself taking action on the great Word of God and the Holy Son that you make yourself.
God and the Holy Son provide you ‘the materials of the Word.’ And it is you making yourself by taking action using that ‘material of the Word. All of you must also make yourselves in your ‘everyday lives.’
19. I SHOULD NOT HAVE ACTED LIKE THAT EVEN AT THAT TIME
During my training time (a monastic life) I was under a bush while praying, and I even envied a mouse. It looked like a mouse that could go around freely. My appearance looked miserable, and a mouse passed by, I said, “You are truly more blessed than I am. Your head does not hurt like mine, right? Because you don’t have philosophy nor religion… you simply walk around while eating foods and it looks like you are living hugging a lover and dating, so you are better off than me.”
Even David reached to that level. He said, ‘A bug is better than me.’ I also thought that a mouse is better than me at that time. I am always anxious and worried about ‘What shall I eat, what shall I wear?’ However, a mouse seems to do well without concerns and worries. I thought, ‘Can I go down to the house without freezing to death in this cold winter?’ It seems so desperate, why did I look at cherry trees in the cold winter? I looked ‘By any chance, is there some leftover fruit that I can eat? Thinking about that time, now many years passed and God gave me so much to the point I can boast. However, I didn’t talk big in advance at the time and I regretted that I thought a mouse was better than me. I was not happy and joyful at that time because of extreme struggles and shabby clothing. I should not have acted even at the time thinking ‘Why should I live like this.’
“God, thank you. Thank you for giving me time so I could go into the mountains and be able to pray. If I had a warm room, I might have been busy lying down carrying a flat stone. But because I didn’t have a room I came here. I am so happy since I prayed to God.” I should have prayed everyday like this, but it is regrettable because I could not do it at that time. Because God raised me in that way, now I turned out well like this. However, because I complained and grumbled in mountains at that time, even now I have to tell about “I complained and grumbled at that time.” Therefore, even all of you, you should think that you will grow in the future and you must be deeply overjoyed, be grateful and thankful all the time and think happily.
20. GIVE THANKS … A PERSON’S APPEARANCE IS A MASTERPIECE OF GOD
In the past, I got shocked tremendously and I used to think all kinds of thoughts. One time, I broke a mirror. “You should have given birth to me well, what is this? My oldest and second-oldest brothers are tall and handsome but I am the only one who is ugly.” Even though I thought like this, you guys should be the same, shouldn’t you? I had a chance to share this story when I met a couple of people who participated in the Miss Korea contest. “I want to have surgery again.” “Why? Are you teasing me because I am ugly?” “It’s not because of that, I entered the Miss Korea contest but I am too ugly when I reflect upon myself through the mirror. It reaches the point that I would like to break the mirror.” Even people who are pretty all around said that they wanted to die because they are ugly. And then she said she wants to get a nose job again, and I said that “I used to have such thinking.”
If I didn’t have that kind of experience, I can’t converse with you guys. I am able to understand people’s heart because I went through it, too. Because I used to attempt to commit suicide myself since I wanted to die, it enables me to understand people’s heart who tried to commit suicide themselves. In the course of my life also, lamenting about my life I thought “I wish I was born as a woman, why I was born as a man.” Maybe, you guys might be the same. However, you have to feel gratification according to how you were born and live diligently.
For example, a persimmon tree said, “How come I was born as a persimmon tree?” People will say, “Be born differently next time! I will cut you down!” However, if a persimmon tree said, “I am so thankful because I was born as a persimmon tree” people feel (good and admire) to the extent of saying “What would you like to eat?” In this way, when you guys also say, “God! I am thankful and grateful because you gave birth to me” God will say, “What do you want to eat?”
Don’t say, “Why do I look like this.” If you do so, God (if you are not pleased that much) will say, “If you bring it after designing yourself, I will make you according to that design.” However, can you follow God’s design? You cannot follow it. You must know thankfulness and gratefulness for your birth. You also, must truly be grateful and feel gratification that your life was born.
21. THE DISEASE OF MY SULKY HEART
In my teenage years, my mom called me “bbi-jjuke-bbae-jjuke.” The reason was when people rubbed me the wrong way even just a little bit, I would get upset and sulky. That is why she gave me this nickname. When she saw me get upset and sulk over minor hurt feelings, my mom would say, “You’re upset at that? Then I won’t talk to you either. Let’s just see whether your sulking fit would frustrate you or me.” (Translator’s Note: “bbi-jjuke-bbae-jjuke” is one of these four syllable Korean words that describes something. Korean is full of these descriptive words. It means that something is not straight or aligned.)
Since the Lord also didn’t like how I would sulk, get upset, and feel neglected, he started to fix the disease of my sulky heart through my mother. However, even though I tried to be patient, I couldn’t fix [myself.]
Eventually, I met the Lord and it disappeared after having a surgical procedure that removes the original character of the heart. That operation was, in fact, ‘repentance’. Even if I was upset at the Lord, it was only my loss; I was the one who went on the lonely path all the more; and my heart was tormented. The Lord made me uproot and pull out all the bad qualities on my own, and made me get rid of them. Since I fixed the part of my character and heart that was difficult to fix, the Lord became happy and he used me. If I do not fix what I needed to fix, I wouldn’t be able to meet the Lord. He wouldn’t even teach me the Bible.
People who misunderstand easily are really scary. They need to fix all these traits. Even if people are past 70, 80, or 90 years old, they need to fix this [character] for the Lord to entrust them a better task. When I prayed in the mountains when I was young, I realized [something] by looking at myself. I said to myself, “If my character is like a dog, then I cannot dare meet the Holy son who is the King of all kings, God’s son.” and I realized on my own, fiercely, to the point where my conscience was stricken.
When a man has a strong character, throws a temper tantrum, and has a bad temperament, then the woman who lives with him would run away saying that she can no longer live with him because their personalities don’t match. If a woman has a character like that, then the man would also run away saying that she is scary. This is because it is more comfortable to live alone than to live next to the one who has personalities like that.
If they don’t fix their bad characters, their spirits and bodies will not shine due to those characters. And then they will cause a big problem. The Lord is also scared of them and does not even go near them. If you look at Proverbs 21:9 in the Bible, King Solomon also said, “Better to live in a hut than to share a big house with a quarrelsome person.” Fixing a bad character, temper, rough temperament, wrong thoughts and actions is raising a level and [making] a great history.
Listening to the Holy son’ word, obeying and taking action, and thereby changing the body through righteous actions and transforming the mind, the heart, thoughts, and the soul is ‘mental resurrection’, and ‘physical resurrection’. Then, following the body, the spirit will become a resurrected spirit. No matter what great Word you listen to, unless your thoughts, actions, and character change, and unless your spirit changes, you cannot go to Heaven even if you believe in The Lord for 1,000 years.
