7. PEOPLE ARE BOOKS
When I was discouraged, and I didn’t have money to buy books, God said, “Today, I will buy a good book so let’s go.” I went to the mining place.
I got the chance to talk with a person who was eating. I heard a story about living being married, a story about fighting, and a story about how life passes by quickly. At that time I realized that people are a book.
Looking at one person gave me a realization about the emptiness of life. “Ah, I am going to age like that. That’s why he didn’t think to sell gold. What is life?” Since I knew that I will live my life just one time, through conversations with many people, while listening to stories that they felt and lamented to the bone, I experienced the emptiness of life.
“One word shared by a person who experienced life is a book.”
8. THE VALUE OF BEING DILIGENT
Being diligent determines the fate of every work. A diligent person catches a roe deer in the mountains first, a diligent person earns money first. It’s because a diligent person takes action first when a good item exists. When it comes to thinking, diligent people think fast, because they get up early in the morning.
Before, I used to check under the chestnut tree whenever the wind blew. But around harvest festival time there were no chestnuts no matter how much I prayed because I went there late in the morning. Despite lots of prayer, arriving late in the morning meant no chestnuts could be picked up, since the middle-aged man who lived below my house and squirrels picked them all up first. However, even if I couldn’t pray much, because I went there early, I got to pick up chestnuts. At that time, I fell into deep thought. ‘It’s not only prayer but also fast action that is needed. That kind of thought came into me.’
The words BE DILIGENT contains everything. Whatever you do, it must be done earlier. You must open your eyes to studying from when you are young, you must also open your eyes to finances, and you need to know how to save money.
You must open your eyes early about how to function in society, don’t you think knowing that is tremendously important? You can’t catch up a person who has gone earlier because they realized early. One day when I was coming back from school, an old man who had a hunched back was walking. I thought “Oh my gosh, going with that old man will take forever. I will go after I play a little bit more. I will go after he already left .”
Thinking like this, I sat back and relaxed walking back and forth for a while and then I looked and the old man had already gone far. I almost died due to catching up to that old man. I realized that for a young man it is difficult to catch up even with an old man who left little bit early. In this way, doing things early is tremendous. When it comes to the Truth, there is a difference between a person who realized it early and left early than a person who realized it late. There is no choice except for you to be diligent, run and work hard.
9. HOW MUCH DO YOU LIVE RIGHTEOUSLY
When I was cutting down barley and sweating profusely during the blazing sunlight of summer, my Mother stopped by and gave me a bowl of barley and just one side-dish of red pepper paste as lunch. Before I gave grace for the meal, pitiful thoughts came to me beforehand.
‘Why am I living like this? No matter how hard I work, I can only afford to eat a bowl of barley, and after I cut down barley is it just in order to eat a bowl of barley?’ I realized that my fate was truly pitiful and tears welled up in my eyes suddenly. ‘Even if it is like this, I should pray in order to eat.’ When I closed my eyes, I heard a voice say
“What matters in life is not how deliciously a man eats, but rather what is important is how righteously they live.”
I thought shedding tears ‘God listened to me again.’ My meal prayer changed into thanksgiving prayer because I was so grateful. On that day the meal I had was truly delicious.
10. PRAYER TO THE HOLY SON
In the past, I used to pray like this. “Lord, I am an ignorant and foolish person. No matter I much I think about it, I am not a wise person. I clearly have come to know that my head is very dull. Tonight, I truly keenly realized more. Therefore, now I finally realized that the words I said frequently are ignorant and not smart. The works I’ve done thinking myself wise were too foolish deeds. I realized I am more ignorant and not wise.”
At that time, in the middle of prayer, I received an answer. “I know already that you are the person who is not prudent and wise even if you are not praying with sorrow. Stop confessing. However, no matter how much your are and ignorant and foolish person, if you learn from a wise person soon you will be able to become a wise disciple. However, no matter how much you are prudent and wise person, if you learn from a foolish teacher, you will end up becoming a foolish person. Therefore, it is not the matter of being unwise, but it is best if you meet a wise and prudent teacher.”
After that I was wandering around the countryside to find that kind of teacher, but that was foolishness. Eventually I realized that night the Lord who spoke was the wise teacher, in other words, it was the Holy Son. So from that time, whenever I prayed, whenever the Lord appeared, learning about the principles and reasons of God which are centered on the Bible kicked in high gear. And a couple years later, the Holy Son said directly “I became your teacher who teaches you” and He said, “Become the teacher of teachers who teaches teachers. You also learn and go out .”
11. RADAR NET OF HEAVEN
God showed me He is with me in several ways. One time, God showed me an antenna, which is as big as a building and rotates like a radar screen on top of a mountain. All the works of human being are beings are broadcasted there and I saw that every work comes out on God’s viewing screen one by one. Hence, I was taken by surprise and got a shock thinking “God is watching everything that I am doing.”
Later on, God sets machine equipment (computer) for the sake of us and through that God is watching over us and I realized through words of Ezekiel. Just as we know about things far away through transmissions, God also watches through spiritual waves.
From that time, thinking “God is always watching me, let’s live a life of faith with that in mind”, there were numerous bad habits I fixed that day that I could not fix even though I tried for 10 years.
I ended up thinking ‘Ah, since God is always watching what I am doing, let’s keep doing what I am supposed to do even though He watches and let’s not do things that I should not do.” Having this kind of perspectives and philosophy, I lived my life of faith for 1 year and developed a lot more compared to not having this mentality who lived a life of faith for 10 years. I came to realize that I could strongly surpass other people.
