- 2 Peter 3:8-13 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.
Today I will talk about ‘time.’ When you are working on a task while fully engrossed in it, time passes extremely quickly. This is ‘the secret to making time pass quickly.’ You must surely catch ‘time’ and use it valuably.
There are people who lost time that is as precious as gold and are using that [precious] time on watching worthless media and using it ‘as a time to sin.’ They are truly foolish lives.
That was precious time that should be spent on your future and your rapture. If you lose that time on doing worthless things, meaningless things, and on committing unrighteous acts, you will go through really painful experiences. Money is not the only precious thing. Human beings cannot do anything if they don’t have time. Time is money.
Worldly people grieve about time passing so quickly. They get old and say, “When did fifty years pass? When did sixty years pass? I feel empty. Time moves fast. There are very few days to live.” Physical time moves a thousand times faster than ‘spiritual time’ and spiritual time moves a thousand times slower than ‘physical time.’ Therefore, if you want to make time move slowly, you must climb aboard God and live ‘spiritually.’
If you live ‘spiritually’ within God, you will do ten or a hundred times more work because you know that much more and thus, you will take action quickly. Sometimes you will do ten-days worth of work even though you worked for one day and sometimes you will do a hundred-days worth of work’ even though you worked for one day. Since you are in the spirit and take action with knowledge, you have time to spare even if you do a lot and you gain many things with the same amount of time. If you live in the body, you take action slowly because you are so ignorant and since your body moves slowly, time moves fast and you are unable to do that much more work. In the end, time passes by quickly and meaninglessly.
If you live spiritually within God, you can do tremendous amount of things even if you work for just one hour because you take action with knowledge through ‘God’s wisdom and thoughts.’ If you live physically with your own head, since those thoughts are human level and physical body level [thoughts], you don’t know.
Therefore, you will only do the work of your own level, you will do the work late, and you will let time pass away meaninglessly without getting anything done. Even if it is work that you were unable to do for a year or ten years because you did not know, once you know it(!), you will do it immediately. When you do, you will accomplish as much as ten years of working or as much as a hundred years of working even if it is just one day. When you don’t know, even if you live a hundred or a thousand years, you will die after living at that level.
If you live spiritually within God, time passes slowly because you come to walk with God in God’s time, and you gain quickly because you take action with knowledge through God’s wisdom. The earth spins rapidly. However the spirit’s time passes slowly. One day in the spiritual world of Heaven – God’s kingdom is like one thousand years in the earthly world.
God’s time, that is, Heaven’s time, is eternal and does not end. One second for God is about four days of time for a human being. Therefore, in the time it takes for one day of God to pass, man’s days pass tremendously fast. That is why one hundred years of life is merely an instant in God’s view. Physical time passes really fast. However, if you do it ‘spiritually,’ you will sometimes finish two hours of work in just five minutes.
That is ‘condensing time.’ If you want to use ‘ten days’ like ‘one hundred days,’ you have to walk with God, the Holy Spirit, and the Lord and climb aboard the spiritual car! If that’s the case, with ‘what wisdom’ does God make time pass slowly? God makes time pass slowly by always doing things in advance. If you get things done in advance, time passes slowly because you wait after getting it done. If you go to sleep after getting things done in advance, it is like starting out early for a long journey. Even a skillful adult cannot keep up with a child who does things in advance.
Even a fast and skillful person cannot contend with a person who does things early in advance. Everyone who does things in advance is ‘a person who is condensing time.’ People who win and succeed do things in advance. [Doing things] ‘in advance’ produces the greatest miracle! Make sure to do the work you should do in advance. This is God’s wisdom and God’s way.
If you apply fertilizer in advance, even trees that would not have produced fruit will produce fruit. By the time a person who doesn’t know says “Let’s leave now,” a person who knows arrives at the destination. Your future is determined by your actions of the present. That is why ‘this time now’ is so precious. By firmly grabbing this precious time and living within God and taking action spiritually and taking action in advance according to God’s wisdom and way, [I bless you] to use each day valuably like a year, to have goals and purposes and gain by taking a lot of actions diligently, and to prepare for that day while running and working hard with the Lord.
