‘Human beings are simple’ means ‘their thoughts are shortsighted.’ Some people’s thoughts are as shortsighted as the width of a blade is short. So then, how simple they are! At times, because of something they have simply done, human beings drop dead on the spot without even being able to move their body, or they pound the ground regretting what they have done, or various problems, small and big, happen also.
You may wonder, ‘What are the things that are simple thoughts and actions?’ Because [people] are simple, both parties exchange words out of anger and hot-temper. Those words become a cause of woe, so they fight, in which one person may be killed by a single blow without even being able to move from that place, or they go through all kinds of sufferings because of that, don’t they? People do not know that such a mishap will occur in one hour and they just do things simply as they see and hear. How wretched they are! A problem occurs or a big accident happens in one day because of something that a person did simply, doesn’t it?
In the world, what is the number of people who die by committing suicide alone? Among countries, Korea is a country which has far more than a hundred thousand people who commit suicide each year. It is ranked with the highest suicide rate in the world.
All nations, think seriously about your own country. Isn’t all of it something that they do thinking simply while seeing and hearing only physical things? People think truly simply and cut off their own lives. Falling off an apartment [building], they cry out, “I’m scared! Help me!” People who commit suicide with poison also cry out, “I want to live!” after swallowing the poison. Those who die by hanging themselves also think, ‘Can I live and not die?’ the moment right before their breath stops.
People assault with words and people assault with actions. Those who kill others also do so thinking simply. While they fight with each other, they become infuriated, impulsively utter reckless words in the heat of the moment, and hit the other person with their hands, kick them with their legs, beat them with a club, or stab them with a knife at that moment.
Afterwards, when the other person stops breathing, only then do they regret, thinking, ‘He’s dead. Can I not bring him back to life?’ The fear grows ten thousand times bigger after they kill a person, so they do all kinds of abnormal things in order to get rid of the fear and dispose of the corpse without a trace. People all commit acts like these because they do things simply. Therefore, if [you] truly believe in God, Me, and if you listen to the Word that I, the Holy Son and act according to the Holy Spirit; your soul and spirit will make judgments, discern what will befall in the future, and not act simply at that moment just as the eyes see and the ears hear. That is why I am telling you to not become a simple person by living spiritually while believing in and following the Almighty, Me, the Holy Son.
Whether it is something serious like murder, war, violence, fights, sexual love, etc., or whether it is something less serious, people make simple judgments and proceed every day as their eyes see and ears hear. Those who do not consider their soul and spirit but live only for the world are people who live a simple life regardless of whether they do something small or big. Listen to the Word that God and I, the Holy Son, speak in this time period and live for things that are eternal.
There is something that human beings do simply, more than anything else. That is things of ‘the world of love.’ More particularly, it is ‘the sexual aspect.’ People are too simple toward love, so they act simply just as they see or hear.
Because of this, all problems come upon them. They make their own heart, mind and thoughts, and the deeds of their body decay, and they cause their soul and spirit also to become sick and wrecked. Matters of love need to be conducted properly. Otherwise, [love] ruins both your body and spirit.
The same is true with matters of material and matters of art as well. They do it thinking simply. As their eyes see and their ears hear, they accept rotten culture in its entirety and simply copy it like a robot. You only do things in a comfortable way while eating, clothing yourselves, and playing simply as you feel. Consequently, your spirits are dashing toward death indiscriminately to receive eternal torment. The world of death is a place that once you go to, you will never ever be able to come out of.
You who treat My, the Holy Son’s, Word simply and put it aside, will face woes that will flood in to the point that you cannot bear, in the future. I earnestly hope that after listening to today’s message, you will never live your life thinking simply and that you will live spiritually by listening to My Word and by praying.
