(From today’s Word, the Holy Son said that we should offer thanksgiving at the upper level. I truly want to offer thanksgiving to the Holy Son at the upper level. Please tell me about thanksgiving at the upper level, which the Holy Son will be pleased with.)
Gratitude means to be grateful by knowing deeply about what others did for you and how they did it by understanding their shimjeong. (*shimjeong-“in one’s heart of hearts” means “in one’s private thoughts and feelings; deep within one) This form of thanksgiving is ‘thanksgiving from the heart’. Gratitude expressed only with words is not thanksgiving, because it is the same as not being grateful.
First, you must know about being grateful. In order to have feelings of thankfulness to the Holy Trinity God, you must first feel Their working. This means that you must truly acknowledge and feel all things the Holy Trinity God did for you. Then you will wholeheartedly express your gratitude.
However, this happens according to each person’s level. You cannot know more than what your level allows, and you only know what is within the range of your thinking. Therefore, you do not normally know everything in detail about how God helped you. What is important in a life of thanksgiving at the upper level is to truly know and realize what you must be thankful for before Heaven. It is to also truly know, feel and confess that the Holy Trinity worked upon you. By praying, you should know what you are grateful for and acknowledge how the Heavens secretly worked upon you and helped you.
Ask the Holy Son and the Holy Spirit. We will let you know through inspiration and realization. The basic items to be thankful for, which you know of, are at the middle and lower levels. Check by thinking and praying more secretly, precisely and deeply.
Realize and give thanks by perfectly knowing how the Holy Trinity God gave you opportunities and how they worked upon you. Let’s say you gave your friend some grapes. A few days later, your friend shows his gratitude by telling you, “The orange you gave me last time was so delicious. Thank you for that.” How would you feel if your friend said it like that? Can you accept his thankfulness?
(I would be very baffled. Thus, I would feel a bit hurt. It feels like there is no sincerity in his thanksgiving. If he was truly grateful, he would not make that kind of a mistake.)
Yes, the Holy Trinity God feels the same. When you are giving thanks for something, you should know for certain what you are giving thanks for, and then you show your thankfulness. Normally, people give thanks for the things they themselves know about, normal things of the middle level. If we were in an ordinary relationship, I would understand and receive their thankfulness. However, if we were in a relationship of deep love, then you should know more deeply about what your lover did for you and show your gratitude, love and respect with that realization, shouldn’t you?
If the relationship is one of love, then it is normal to expect the other person to know more, don’t you think so? The Heavens want the most heartfelt thanksgiving through sincere love and not simply a ‘thank you’. Do not be thankful only for solving problems with materials. Rather than just noticing what can be seen, you must find the fundamental things which are unseen, then give thanksgiving for those things.
Everyone can know and give thanks for visible things, even if you are not in a relationship of lovers. That is why gratitude expressed for visible things is low level. You must know, realize and express gratitude for things that are more fundamental than that. If you have something to be thankful for and you want to show your gratitude, then think and understand the other person’s mind as to why they did what they did for you.
I will teach you about a life of thanksgiving and explain to you what low level gratitude is. It is when you give thanks only with words, when you do not give thanks at times when you really should be grateful, when you are only on the receiving end and do not show any responses or repayments, when you do not want to know more about what you should be thankful for and when you show gratitude to the Holy Son for things that Satan gave you. All of this pertains to low-level thanksgiving. Reflect on yourself as to whether you have been offering these kinds of low-level gratitude. Escape from this low-level gratitude by knowing and realizing. The Holy Trinity God does not receive thanksgiving from that low-level position, and this kind of thanksgiving does not reach God.
Gratitude at the middle level is when you are thankful because you know what to be thankful for, but only in an average way. You give thanks in an average way, if you know only in an average way. Therefore, pray more so that you will know more and raise the level of your thankfulness from the middle level. Do you know why I am telling you deeply about a life of thanksgiving at the upper level? The Heavens will work upon and give more blessings to the one who offers thanksgiving that touches Heaven’s heart. Also, those who live a life of thankfulness at the upper level can feel love and they are thankful with knowledge. So their love grows deeper and deeper.
This is why people who offer thanksgiving at the upper level can feel Heaven’s love more. Such people verify Heaven’s love and so they can love more without any doubts. Reflect on yourself to see if you have been careless in your life of thanksgiving. Realize that the Heavens do not want you to just aimlessly work hard. A life of thanksgiving is so very important.
Do not be careless in your life of thanksgiving. The Heavens want to give more to a person who is considerate and who offers thanksgiving to the Heavens for what the Heavens gave to that person, do They not? The key to receiving all the blessings prepared for each person is to live a life of showing gratitude at the upper level. This kind of gratitude is the shortcut to achieving deep love. Also, if you really have feelings of thankfulness, now is the time to show your thankfulness by repaying [Heaven] with ‘your actions’.
The Holy Trinity God has already poured down greater blessings and grace to those who offered thanksgiving to the Holy Trinity God. Show your thankfulness for the words that the Holy Son inspires you with and do not be careless in your life of thanksgiving.
